Stevenage is the nearest town to Knebworth Park, and for most people going to the Oasis concerts in September 2027 it’s where the hotel search starts. It’s a sensible base: two miles from the park, direct trains to London King’s Cross, and more rooms than anywhere else nearby. Here’s what to know before you book.
Where to stay in Stevenage
- Holiday Inn Express Stevenage: town centre, breakfast included, a short walk to the station.
- Holiday Inn Stevenage: the largest hotel near the park, with a restaurant, bar and parking.
- Premier Inn Stevenage Central: a budget option in town.
- Premier Inn Stevenage North: on the north side of town.
- Novotel Stevenage: by Junction 7 of the A1(M), with a Knebworth Park address.
- Hotel Cromwell: in the Old Town, quieter and with more character.
Rooms in Stevenage will go first now the dates are out, and prices on show weekends will be well above normal. If you’re going with a group, a whole house on a short-let site can work out better than four hotel rooms.
Getting back to Stevenage after the show
This is the bit to plan. The promoters have set up a stewarded, lit walking route from Knebworth Park to Stevenage station, and they’re advising fans not to drive. So if you’re staying in Stevenage, expect to walk back with the crowd. It’s around two miles, and it takes a while to clear the park first.
If you’re heading on to London, late trains run from Stevenage to King’s Cross after every show, from 11.30pm to 1.30am, at £10 one way. Fast trains take just over 20 minutes.
The alternative: stay on the doorstep
If you’d rather skip the walk into town altogether, The Pop-Up Camp is roughly 200m from the edge of the Knebworth estate. It’s unofficial camping and glamping for the Oasis concerts, run by the team behind The Pop-Up Hotel. You arrive on the Friday, walk to the show, walk back to a bar and your tent, and leave on the Monday once the roads are clear.
